Before encountering Christ, Nicholas “Meechie” Lunceford struggled with anger, frustration, and the weight of past mistakes during his incarceration. While in solitary confinement, Meechie discovered Our Daily Bread devotionals. As he kept reading the message of the Gospel, God began to work in his heart, leading to Meechie fully dedicating his life to Jesus. At a Prison Leadership Conference, he experienced God’s presence, freeing him from anger and filling him with joy and peace. Today, Meechie boldly shares his testimony, inspiring fellow inmates to also trust in Jesus, proving that even in prison, God’s Word brings healing and lasting freedom.

Our Daily Bread Ministries helps people grow closer in their relationship with God, become more like Jesus, and respond to God’s Word through the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Our ministry started from humble beginnings in 1938 as a small radio program called Detroit Bible Class, produced to make the wisdom of the Bible accessible to all. It quickly captured the attention of listeners in Detroit, Michigan, and eventually the nation.
