Sharllyne was born in a small village in Kenya, where daily life was a struggle, and her family couldn’t afford school. As a preteen, she engaged in harmful behaviors to support her family. In 2020, she found Imani Collective, and through discipleship, Bible studies, and community support, she reconnected with her faith and began attending church. She stopped selling alcohol, and her children now attend school and experience God’s love. Sharllyne has found freedom and a new joy in the Lord, with lasting impact on her family.
Imani Collective is a nonprofit providing dignified work and holistic care to the marginalized and underserved in Mombasa and Turkana, Kenya. Jesus set the example for us when He took time to heal the sick, bind up the broken-hearted, and feed the five thousand hungry people who pressed in around Him. Meeting physical needs was an essential element of Jesus’ ministry and a way that He revealed His character and opened hearts and eyes to receive Him.
