X struggled with mental health challenges and battled addiction, spending his twenties in harmful patterns while searching for meaning and relief from life’s difficulties. In his early thirties, a friend encouraged him to seek God, leading him to attend prayer groups, Bible studies, and a faith-based rehabilitation program. As his faith grew, X accepted Jesus as his Savior and fully committed to following Him. Soon after, he was baptized. Since that moment, X has maintained sobriety, grown in faith, and now serves others through Sharpen Recovery, guiding them toward healing and hope in Jesus.

Sharpen Recovery is a Christ-centered nonprofit helping individuals overcome addiction by providing high-quality, affordable recovery housing. Since launching in 2019, Sharpen has grown into one of the largest recovery housing organizations in Texas, operating 17 houses across four counties. Our structured living environments combine accountability, peer support, and the redemptive power of Jesus—offering participants a stable place to live, heal, and rebuild their lives.
