Transforming Lives Through Love and Discipleship – The Mission of Eyes On Me

Where many communities are plagued by violence, drug use, and hopelessness, the light of Christ shines brightly through organizations like Eyes On Me. This non-profit 501c3 is dedicated to mentoring, discipling, and serving at-risk youth and their families. With a vision to transform and strengthen low-income, high-crime, overlooked, and underserved neighborhoods, Eyes On Me exemplifies the power of God’s love and the impact of dedicated discipleship.

Eyes On Me was founded in 2008 by Christian rap artist Bobby “Tre9” Herring. What started as a humble weekly outreach event in Houston’s 5th Ward has grown into a multi-faceted ministry. Today, Eyes On Me serves some of the most dangerous areas in Greater-Houston, including Sunnyside, Forum Park, and Greenspoint, as well as cities outside of Houston like Waco and Brookshire. These areas, known for extreme violence, rampant drug use, and human trafficking, are now seeing the light of Christ thanks to the relentless efforts of this ministry.

So far in Q1, Eyes On Me has shared the gospel with over 300 people, demonstrating their commitment to spreading the message of Jesus Christ. With over 57+ volunteer hours, their team is dedicated to making a tangible difference in these communities. By establishing a presence, building relationships, and equipping residents to become productive, loving leaders, Eyes On Me is fostering positive change and inspiring hope.

One of the many lives transformed by Eyes On Me is Elana's. Her story is a testament to the power of God’s love and the impact of the ministry’s work. Initially hostile towards Eyes On Me, Elana was struggling with drug addiction and was frequently in conflict. However, through her involvement with the ministry’s programs like Hip Hop Hope and church gatherings, Elana’s life began to change. She now refers to the Eyes On Me community as her “sister,” and is actively involved in group recovery. Elana has been clean for several months, volunteers at the ministry’s screen printing program with her daughters, and has rededicated her life to Jesus. Her two girls have also been baptized, marking a profound transformation for the entire family.

Eyes On Me offers a variety of programs designed to engage and uplift at-risk youth. These programs include shoe customization, a podcast studio, a music recording studio, and mentoring. Each program provides a safe space for youth to express themselves, learn new skills, and find support and encouragement.

Eyes On Me is more than just an organization; it is a source of inspiration and a testament to the transformative power of God’s love. By focusing on reproducible discipleship and strategic mentoring, Eyes On Me is making a lasting impact in some of the most challenging environments. As they continue to share the gospel and serve those in need, the ripple effects of their work are felt far and wide. The story of Eyes On Me reminds us that no community is too lost to be found, no person is beyond redemption, and through Christ, all things are possible.

Join us in supporting Eyes On Me as they continue their mission to transform lives and communities. Whether through volunteering, donating, or praying, your involvement can help bring the light of Jesus to those who need it most. Together, we can make a difference, one life at a time.
