Evangelism in Honduras: 750+ Led to Christ

As usual Stoller mission trips have as its purpose to lead as many people to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as possible. In order to accomplish our goal, we take advantage of different types of “platforms” to be able to introduce the transforming power of a relationship with Jesus Christ.

In only five days…

The platform we used on this mission trip consisted of building a chapel in 5 days that seats about 140 adults. The foundation is ready when we arrive; then we hire masons and helpers and, with our volunteers, accomplish an amazing task.

We pass out reading glasses during the days we are there.

Hundreds come to receive free glasses. Our volunteers are trained to help individuals discover the correct “power” they need. Periodically amazing stories occur like the 10 year-old, cross-eyed young girl who had never been able to read because she should not see. Several glasses did not help until she got to a 3.0. In that moment she saw for the first time in her life! The emotions were high at that moment. What a beautiful experience. Then there was the 96-year-old man who was elated, raised his hands, and shouted because he could see to read again!

Hundreds believe in Christ!

Every single person who receives glasses is then sent to our evangelism team who shares the Gospel with them. Many come to Christ as a result of this personal encounter. There is no pressure placed on people to believe in Jesus. So many are ready and want Christ in their hearts and lives.

Children came to Christ!

In Honduras, this time the schools were amazingly open to our team who worked with them. Music, play, and Gospel sharing happened, and a large number of children trusted in Jesus.

At times one may wonder if the children really did accept Christ. I believed in Jesus when I was 6 years old, and it worked for me. Why would it not work for them?

The teachers and principal were so kind in opening the space for their kids to learn about the most important person who ever lived – JESUS CHRIST.

Evangelism through soccer...

This year we had 2 soccer coaches who held a soccer camp for about 80 kids. Many of them trusted in Christ. A mini “world cup” tournament happened on the last day. Teams received trophies and had a wonderful time.

Two nurses came for a 1-day medical clinic for babies.

It was very successful and opened the door for more Gospel sharing.

On Friday night the chapel was inaugurated with an evangelistic message.

The new church was full and running over. Many were saved.

God brought 755 people into His kingdom that week.

So, the team of 42 was able to see the glory of God firsthand.

In the Schools, 476 believed in Jesus
The evangelism team led 193 people to Christ
The sports team saw 60 trust Christ
Through preaching and personal evangelism, at least another 26 also believed

Every number is important to God. Every single number encourages the team members, their Bible study groups back home who prayed for them, and churches that heard the number. GOD INDEED IS AMAZING.

We saw miracles: It was supposed to rain every day. However, there was no rain during the day, and we were able to build. The day it did rain, the clouds and rain went all around us and did not affect construction.

One member was delayed a day because of the need for a VISA. He discovered it would take 2-5 business days to get one. Much prayer happened, and miraculously before noon on Monday morning, he had a Visa in his hands!

The following specific prayers were answered:

For the people in Honduras to believe in Christ as we share
For protection on the entire trip
For God to allow the weather to cooperate with the work.
For all 42 participants to be ready, have all their documents, arrive at the airport in time, safe travel, all glasses and materials get through customs. (1 got his visa 1 day late – miracle)
For the members of the church for whom the building will be built so they can share the gospel
For hundreds of salvations
